Check Rite presents a free and unobstucted orifice when open.  The disc is controlled by a torsion spring.  The closing action is designed to minimize the destructive effect of a sudden reversal of flow or line hammer, which is more evident in conventional check valves.  Operation is automatic and silent when Check Rite is properly applied.
